The Beginning of Cellphone Cameras

Philippe Kahn, a software engineer, was waiting at the hospital while his wife gave birth. Feeling incredibly bored, he tinkered with a few gadgets and built a makeshift device that would allow him to share a picture of his newborn with his phone. In 2000,  a company called Sharp used his technology to design the first commercially available camera phone, in Japan.
