The First-ever Japanese Camera

In 1934, Japan-based Seikikogaku kenkyusho produced a prototype for the country’s first-ever 35mm camera with a focal-plane-based shutter, called the Kwanon. In 1947, the company’s name was changed to Canon Camera Co Inc.
